Instructions for troubleshooting installation problems with the USB driver

Remedy if the standard driver installation does not work.

Preparation

  1. Download the driver from our downloads section.

  2. Install a data compression program, such as 7-Zip.

  3. Navigate to the driver installation file (USB_MB3U_driver_ftdi21224.exe).

Unpacking and Installing the Driver

  1. Right-click the .exe file. On Windows 11, you must first select "Show more options".

  2. In the context menu, under 7-Zip, select "Extract files...".

  3. Open the Device Manager with administrator rights after extracting the files.

  4. Connect the USB cable to the PC and the DINA module.
  5. Find the USB port that is not being recognized correctly. This is often marked with a yellow exclamation point ⚠️.

    • Note: If the port is not listed under "Other devices," check the "USB controllers" or "Ports (COM & LPT)" categories. On Windows 10/11, a standard Windows driver is often installed, which prevents communication with the DINA modules.

  6. Right-click the corresponding USB port and select "Properties".

  7. In the window that opens, go to the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver".

  8. Select "Browse my computer for drivers".
  9. Then, select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".

  10. Click "Have Disk" to open a new window.

  11. Select "Browse" and navigate to the location where you extracted the files.

  12. Select the ftdibus.inf file and click "Open".

  13. Confirm the driver installation by clicking "Next".

  14. After the driver is successfully installed, the connection to your DINA modules will be fully functional. 🛠️
